Volunteers & Interns Needed!

If you would like to volunteer your time working with Preciouslyfe, we would love to hear from you. There are  many areas where your time would be greatly appreciated.

 Volunteer Coordinator Positions
This volunteer position will assist with volunteer and work-study student recruitment and coordination for programs based in churches and faith-based organizations. Duties may include recruiting and placing volunteers and work-study students at sites, assisting with monitoring, data tracking, and providing overall support in volunteer management. Members may assist in other program areas as needed.

HOPELINE Coordinator Position
This volunteer position will assist with the HOPELINE telephone program. Duties may include tracking, distribution and documentation of telephones.  Working with local agencies, assisting with monitoring, data tracking, and providing overall support in volunteer management. Members may assist in other program areas as needed

VOICES Program Coordinator Position
This volunteer position will assist with the VOICES school based program based, serving through, community & parent outreach, assisting with community and school partnerships, planning college visits and workshops as directed, coordinating volunteers, and providing overall support.

PRECIOUS HAVEN Administrator Position
This volunteer position will work directly with the executive board in the preparations of the transitional home opening.  Duties may include recruiting volunteers, scheduling meetings, typing minutes, contacting agencies, data tracking, and providing overall support. This posistion may become permanent based on funding. 

Online Publications Editor Intern
The volunteer Online Publications Editor Intern is responsible for updating and editing the content of PLM's website including. This position will also help with online community development

General Requirements and Qualifications

  • Certain volunteer posistions will require applicants to be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a high school  degree or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States
  • Specific qualifications vary by position but generally applicants should have good people skills, and have a desire to learn
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and the Internet desired
  • Applicants with experience working with Black and Latino communities or non-profit/community/faith-based organizations are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Accepted applicants must follow all federal and PLM guidelines with respect to faith during official PLM hours.
